April 2007 | Eurowings launches the 2007 tourist charter programme
The Eurowings 2007 charter programme is now as complete and comprehensive as it has ever been. In the current year there are a few new additions: starting this year Eurowings now flies CRJ 100s to Jönköping and Karlstad for the Swedish Tourist Board. Because of high booking demand we have adjusted the planned triangular flight plan to two single flights: the charter programme would mean in this case Düsseldorf-Jönköping–Düsseldorf and Düsseldorf–Karlstad–Düsseldorf.
Another new route is the Berlin-Tegel to Oradea in Romania. This connection was also completely booked out after a short time, meaning that for the whole of April Eurowings had to make up for the originally planned BAe 146 with the purchase of the larger Condor A320 with 174 seats. From May the route will be covered by Air Berlin with a Boeing 737-700 with 144 seats. We have also added a night flight to the charter programme with a flight on Friday-Saturday from Berlin-Schönefeld to Sofia using a Germanwings A319.
We still offer the Channel Islands of Guernsey and Jersey from Düsseldorf and Hanover. Contact Air covers these destinations with an ATR 72. And another innovation starting in 2007 is Augsburg Airways from the Lufthansa Regional Grouping: a Dash 8-400 aircraft operates from Munich via Frankfurt to the Channel Islands. We have also kept the route from Berlin-Tegel to Piestany in Hungary. You can find more information on the 2007 charter programme on the Eurowings intranet under Commercial & Projects / Charter.
