 February 2008 | Eurowings online up-to-date

New web presence redesigned, updated and refreshed by in-house personnel

Teamwork pays off: A project group with members from different departments of the company has given the web site of Eurowings Luftverkehrs AG a new identity. It went online under www.eurowings.com a short time ago. The project was managed by the Web Development Group of the IT department under Ralf-Markus Minter. Most updates were generated by the project partners during the last few months of 2007.

The project had been initiated by the corporate management when it suggested a revision of texts and adaptation to the present business model of Eurowings. The entire website of the company was restructured and the content of all Eurowings internet pages revised. When the detailed project plan had been drawn up, an eleven 11-member editorial team was formed. The team members met for a workshop every week under the guidance of Markus Reichert (Network Planning). In a concerted action, the members of the editorial team brought their professional know-how to bear.

The website is looks completely different now: The scroll bar comes with new photos; impressions from different facets of aviation and from the history of Eurowings can be found. Lisa Dießner (Media Design) redesigned the appearance of the website in line with the color specifications in the present corporate design manual and gave it a more attractive look.

The new intuitive menu prompts, developed by Stefan Häußler (Programming), make navigation much easier: For example, all important headings on the main navigation bar are always available at the red bar, which had also been typical of the earlier version. From the navigation bar, the user gets directly to the required information and is only a mouse-click away, say, from „Info & News“. It goes without saying that the new website is available in English, which also contains the revised texts.

The result of the comprehensive project is really good to see: Synergies across departmental borders have produced an up-to-date information platform with entirely new definitions of topics and themes which can be updated without problem in future.
