July 2008 | Phase-in completed in record time
Eurowings leases a CRJ-200 from Cityline and completes phase-in within 30 days
The Eurowings fleet welcomes a newcomer: A CRJ-200, type named CL-600-2B19, started regular flight service for the Dortmund based company on June 4, 2008. The plane, which Bombardier delivered to Lufthansa's Cityline in 1996, operated there under code D-ACJA until early May and clocked up 25,750 flight hours with 22,144 landings. Now leased to Eurowings, its new code is D-ACRR.
Eurowings completed the phase-in of the plane in the record time of only one month. On May 5, the 7-member acceptance team headed by system engineer Marlene Leutgeb started checking the documentation with Cityline in Cologne. In only eleven days, the team critically checked not only the complete set of technical maintenance documents, they also inspected the physical state of the plane.

After the check, the plane was transferred to Hamburg without any complaints, where it received the typical Lufthansa Regional finish. At the next station - Nuremberg - the technical acceptance document was signed in the last week of May. Here, at the headquarters of Eurowings Equipment (also see report on page 6 of this issue), some technical modifications were made as a precondition for the issue of the airworthiness certificate. After the technical and operational flight acceptance as well as the speedy handling of the application for the issue of the airworthiness certificate by the Federal Aviation Office, the CRJ-200 took off for its first flight for Eurowings on June 4.
Thus, plane number 18 among Eurowings' 50-seaters changed fleet in a near-record time of 30 days – which was only possible thanks to the professional work of the whole technical team and the exemplary interaction within Eurowings.
