March 2009 | Franconian carnival princes are taking to the air

This year again, Eurowings provided a plane for the traditional sightseeing flight of the „Nuremberg Air Fleet“ in the capital city of Franconia. Totally 15 princely couples from all over Bavaria had answered the invitation by the "Nuremberg Air Fleet" for a one-hour sightseeing flight over Central Franconia on January 26, 2009. As in previous years, this highlight of the carnival season was organized by Klaus Huber, General Aviation Manager of Nuremberg Airport.

At one o'clock p.m., 30 carnival royals boarded a Eurowing Be 146 plane which, like every year, was flown by captain Bernd Ziefer and his crew. After the flight, the carnival highlight went on in a hilarious party in departure hall 2 of Nuremberg Airport. Several hundred visitors were electrified by the parades of the Prince's Guards and the Allersberger Fecklas Witches. Finally, the dignitaries of Nuremberg Airport were awarded carnival orders by the princely couples.
