Can I check in musical instruments in as luggage?
Yes, musical instruments can be checked in as luggage as long as they are no bigger than a guitar and are packed in a hard case.
If your musical instrument is packed in a soft case, you must carry it as hand luggage in the cabin.
Larger musical instruments must be carried in the cabin and placed on an extra seat.
Double basses must be transported in a hard case and checked in as luggage. They may not be carried in the cabin due to their size.
Eurowings accepts no liability for musical instruments carried in the cabin.
All regulations apply to Eurowings flights with an EW or 4U flight number, regardless of the operating airline. For our partner airlines' flights, which do not have an EW or 4U flight number, the conditions of the respective airline apply. These can be viewed on the airlines' own websites. These partner airlines currently include Lufthansa, SWISS, Austrian Airlines, Brussels Airlines, Condor, United Airlines, Air Canada and All Nippon Airways.
