What are the luggage regulations for infants and children?
For children under 12 years, the same luggage regulations apply as for adults. This applies even if children will not be sitting in their own seats.
One of the following items may be carried and checked in as luggage per infant/child free of charge:
- A pram
- A pushchair
- A booster seat
- A carrycot
Larger items will be carried as oversize luggage. At some airports smaller, lighter pushchairs can be taken with you to the gate.
If your child is to sit on a booster seat in the cabin, this must first be examined at the check-in counter to ensure it is suitable for the flight. For this reason, web check-in is not available for passengers bringing a booster seat.
- More information on bringing booster seats into the cabin can be found here.
- More information on luggage regulations for adults can be found here.
All regulations apply to Eurowings flights with an EW or 4U flight number, regardless of the operating airline. For our partner airlines' flights, which do not have an EW or 4U flight number, the conditions of the respective airline apply. These can be viewed on the airlines' own websites. These partner airlines currently include Lufthansa, SWISS, Austrian Airlines, Brussels Airlines, Condor, United Airlines, Air Canada and All Nippon Airways.
