Yes, you can edit your booking and add the following extra services up to 30 minutes before departure, whether you do it online, on your mobile phone, by phone or at one of our airport counters:

  • Regular, excess and special luggage (golfing equipment, bicycles and sports equipment such as surfboards, snowboards, bodyboards, diving gear, and sail and hang gliders)
  • Transport of pets

Fare upgrade

Up to 72 hours before departure, you can still upgrade your fare by telephone or at our counters. There will be no processing charge if you do this by phone.

Note: Do you have an etix® ticket number instead of a booking number? Did you book your Eurowings flight through a travel agent or one of our partner airlines? Did you book a flight with a partner airline at eurowings.com? If so, please contact the relevant airline or your travel agent.
All regulations apply to Eurowings flights with an EW or 4U flight number, regardless of the operating airline. For our partner airlines' flights, which do not have an EW or 4U flight number, the conditions of the respective airline apply. These can be viewed on the airlines' own websites. These partner airlines currently include Lufthansa, SWISS, Austrian Airlines, Brussels Airlines, Condor, United Airlines, Air Canada and All Nippon Airways.

What special regulations apply to emergency exit row seating?

We ask for your understanding that the following groups may not sit in emergency exit rows due to official safety requirements:

  • Infants and children (up to and including 17 years)
  • People travelling with animals in the cabin
  • Pregnant women
  • People with physical and/or mental disabilities
  • People with reduced mobility due to body measurements, illness or age

Please note that by reserving a seat in the emergency exit rows you confirm that you and your fellow travellers do not fulfil any of these criteria. If this is not the case, we are authorised to give the relevant passenger(s) another seat reservation, without reimbursing the reservation charge. In case of doubt, the Eurowings cabin staff will make the relevant decision.

What do I need to know before adding a Rail&Fly ticket to my booking?

Would you like to ensure your journey to the airport is quick and comfortable? If so, you can book your train ticket to the airport with us even after you have booked your flight. As usual, you can choose between a return ticket and a single ticket to the airport. It is not possible to book a train ticket for the return leg of the journey only. Rail&Fly tickets cannot be booked if the airport chosen as the destination of your return flight is different from the airport you are departing from.

Please note that if you have made a group flight booking, train tickets may only be booked for all passengers and not for individual passengers.

Exception:
If you choose a one-way journey when booking your flight, it is not possible to add a return journey at a later date.

Click here for more information.

Note:
If your international Eurowings flight booking has an etix® ticket number or if you have booked your Eurowings flight with one of our partner airlines or in a travel agency, please contact the relevant partner airline or your travel agency to add a Rail&Fly ticket to your booking. Our current partner airlines are Lufthansa, SWISS, Austrian Airlines, Brussels Airlines, Condor, United Airlines, Air Canada and All Nippon Airways.

If you book your checked luggage or excess luggage before checking in for your flight, you will save up to 50% on the charge for booking checked luggage at the airport counter.

Does my booking confirmation/invoice entitle me to input tax deduction?

Eurowings invoices are electronic plane tickets. Article 34 of the German Turnover Tax Implementing Regulation (UStDV) recognises transport tickets as invoices and the statement of the German Ministry of Finance (BMF) of 29 January 2004, Ref. IV B 7 – S 7280 – 19/04, recognises transport tickets as invoices (without electronic signature) entitling the purchaser to input tax deduction.

Note:
For questions relating to invoices issued by our partner airlines, please contact the relevant airline. Our current partner airlines are Lufthansa, SWISS, Austrian Airlines, Brussels Airlines, Condor, United Airlines, Air Canada and All Nippon Airways.

Can my child travel alone?

Children aged 12 or older may fly alone. Children under 12 may only fly accompanied by a responsible adult. Children between the age of five and eleven may also travel accompanied by a sibling aged sixteen years or older. The child's companion must be able to assist the child at all times in the case of any unusual event. If the responsible adult does not have parental authority, we must be provided with the following written permission from an adult with parental authority.

Please note that special entry and exit conditions apply in some countries.

Unaccompanied minor service

On direct domestic flights and direct flights from Germany to Zurich or Vienna Eurowings offers an unaccompanied minor service (UM service) for children aged from five up to and including 11. Our friendly staff will not only ensure the well-being of your child during the flight, but will also make sure that your child arrives safely in the destination airport. In addition, we provide children travelling alone with a savoury snack and still water (0.2 l) and one other drink on board, free of charge.

Booking

The UM service and the corresponding flight can be booked via the call centre or at a Eurowings airport counter, but unfortunately not online or via mobile phone. If your booking has an etix® ticket number, you can only book the UM service at the airport.

Charges

A charge will be applied per journey leg and per child. This must be paid with the booking payment.

Note:

Can I add luggage to an existing booking?

Yes, luggage can be added to a booking up to 30 minutes before departure. If this is done online via "Book add-ons", via mobile in the "Manage bookings" area, or via telephone, the usual additional charges apply. You will pay more if you register your luggage when you get to the airport counter.

  1. Log in on the page "Book add-ons".
  2. You will see an overview of your flights with all the services you have booked.
  3. Simply add your luggage or excess luggage.
  4. After clicking "Next" you just need to confirm your payment to complete the booking.
  5. We will then send you an updated booking confirmation.

Note:
Registered luggage cannot be removed.

What documents does my child require for the flight?

In addition to the booking number or etix® ticket number, all travellers including infants, children and adolescents require ID.

As of 26 June 2012, every child with German nationality, regardless of age, requires their own travel document to travel abroad. Joint passports for parents and children are no longer recognised. The new regulation also applies for travel within the EU and the Schengen area.

Children under 12

As described here, children under 12 are normally required to travel with a responsible adult. If a child travels with an adult who does not have parental authority, written permission from the parent or an adult with parental authority is required. If such permission is not presented, the child will not be allowed to fly with us.

The required declaration form can be downloaded here.

Special regulations also apply for booking flights for children under 12.

Further information on this topic can be found here.

Foreign nationals

For foreign nationals living in Germany, the regulations of their homeland and the entry regulations of the destination country apply.

Special entry and exit regulations

Special entry and exit regulations apply in certain countries, such as France, Spain, Italy, Portugal, Croatia, Romania and Israel, for children travelling alone. Each passenger is responsible for ensuring they comply with these regulations. We therefore recommend that you find out the relevant requirements from the responsible authorities in good time to ensure you have all the correct documentation for the flight.

Do I need a visa to enter one of the countries you fly to?

That depends on your nationality and your travel destination. For this reason we regret we are unable to give you a more detailed answer to this question.

Please go to the local consulate or tourist information office of your destination country well before your flight. It is your responsibility as the passenger to have all necessary documentation ready on arrival.

What is an etix® ticket number?

etix® electronic tickets replace paper tickets and consist of a 13-digit number in addition to the booking code. A booking code is issued with every etix® ticket number.
For example, if you book your flight on lufthansa.com or through a travel agent, you will receive an etix® ticket number that is also saved in the etix® database. When you present your number and a photo ID at the airport counter, you will receive your boarding pass.

What electronic devices can I use on board?

Since March 2014, the use of electronic devices (such as tablets, smartphones and MP3 players) has been permitted on board all Eurowings flights, provided that the devices are set to flight mode. Hearing aids and pacemakers also pose no problem.

Passengers sitting in rows with emergency exits must store their electronic devices securely in their hand luggage or in the seat pocket during take-off and landing. This regulation applies to all Airbus A319 and A320 planes operated by Eurowings.

Please note that instructions issued by the flight crew must be complied with.

The use of the following devices is prohibited:
