What does "Payment status: declined/pending" mean on the "My bookings" and "Booking changes" pages at Eurowings?
The status display under "My flight" in the "View booking" area allows you to track the status of your payment and see when your payment has gone through.
Declined
"Declined" status is displayed if the payment could not be completed for some reason or if your direct debit has been returned.
Please note that if payment is unsuccessful, reservations may be canceled without warning in accordance with the Conditions of Carriage (item 4.5).
Pending
"Pending" status means that authorization is still in progress, but your seat is reserved. If payment is unsuccessful, the status will change to "Declined".
Confirmed
If "Confirmed" status is displayed, both your payment and reservation are complete and your flight booking has been confirmed.
If you have any questions about your payment status, our competent employees at our call center will be happy to advise you.
You can check the status of your payment here.

Can I transport a musical instrument in the Eurowings cabin as a carry-on?
Yes, musical instruments can be carried as hand luggage if their size does not exceed 55 x 40 x 23 cm. The following musical instruments can be taken on board as hand luggage, even if they are slightly over the maximum size: clarinets, flutes, French horns, oboes, violins, trumpets.
Larger musical instruments (such as guitars) may only be transported in the cabin if they are in a soft case on an extra seat.
The charges applicable for traveling with musical instruments can be found in this table.
A musical instrument carried on board counts as one piece of hand luggage. You may only take one other piece of hand luggage with a maximum size of 40 x 30 x 10 cm on board.
Exception:
Double basses must be transported in a hard case and checked as baggage. Due to their size, they may not be carried in the cabin.
Extra seat
If you book an extra seat by phone before midnight on the same day as you book your flight, the extra seat will cost the same as your own seat and there will be no extra charge. If an extra seat is added later, it will be charged at the current flight price as shown on the Internet.
Note:
Eurowings accepts no liability for musical instruments carried in the cabin.

What options do I have if I am unable to take my Eurowings flight?
If you are unable to take your flight, you have three options:
1. Change your booking to another date
Flight bookings can be changed to another available date up to before web check-in closes before departure, provided that the flight will be taken by the same person on the same route and is on our published flight schedule. You can change your booking online, with our mobile services or by phoning our call center. If you have added the Flex option to your SMART fare, BEST fare or BIZclass fare fare booking, you can change your flight free of charge up to before web check-in closes before departure. For other bookings, a fixed charge per passenger and per leg of your trip will apply. The amount can be found in our table of charges (Article 17 "BKG" and "NC1"). The flight price is determined by the fare that applies to the route at the time you change the booking. If the new flight is more expensive, you must pay the difference in price as well as the booking change fee. However, refunds will not be issued if the new flight is lower in price.
Changing your booking online
- Log in to "My flight" with your username and password.
- In the overview of your booked flights, select the flight you want to change.
- Enter the new flight date.
Changes to flights made online must be made within the same fare. If you want to change your fare, you can do so by phone or at the airport counter up to 72 hours before departure.
Charges
Booking changes will incur a fixed charge and, if appropriate, the fare difference. We will also charge an administration fee for changes made by phone or in person. This does not apply to flights booked with the Flex option.
2. Name change
You can transfer your flight to another person by phone for a charge, but only up to before web check-in closes before departure (or in the case of bookings for multiple legs, up to before web check-in closes before the first flight departs). Please have your booking number ready when you call.
Charges
If the current flight price is higher than the flight you originally booked, you will be required to pay the difference.
Note:
If your booking has an etix® ticket number, it is not possible to change a name for a Eurowings flight.
3. Cancellation
If you have added the Flex option to your SMART fare, BEST fare or BIZclass fare fare booking, you may cancel your flight up to 40 minutes before departure free of charge. Unfortunately, no other bookings can be canceled because of their low prices. However, the flight dates can be changed online in the "My flight" area. Alternatively, you can call us to have the flights transferred to another person; a charge will apply.
There are four ways to cancel a flight booked with the SMART, BEST or BIZclass fare with the Flex option:
- Here, on our website
- Using our mobile services, under "Manage flights"
- Through our call center
- At our airport counters.
With the Flex option, bookings may also be canceled after the original travel date has passed. This option is free of charge, but flights must be canceled on the same day as the original scheduled departure date by phone or in person at our airport counters. If a booking is changed or canceled after the original departure date, a fixed charge will apply.
Note:
If you have an etix® ticket number rather than a booking number, or if you have booked a flight operated by one of our partner airlines at eurowings.com or through a travel agency, please contact the specific airline or your travel agency.

You will pay more if you register your baggage when you get to the airport counter.

Can my child travel alone at Eurowings?
Children age 12 or older may fly alone. Children under 12 may only fly accompanied by a responsible adult. Children between the ages of 5 and 11 may also travel accompanied by a sibling age 16 or older. The child's companion must be able to assist the child at all times in the event of an unexpected occurrence. If the responsible adult does not have parental authority, we must be provided with written permission from an adult with parental authority.
Please note that special entry and exit conditions apply in some countries.
Unaccompanied minor service
On direct domestic flights and direct flights from Germany to Zurich or Vienna Eurowings offers an unaccompanied minor service (UM service) for children ages 5 up to and including 11. Our friendly staff will not only ensure the well-being of your child during the flight, but will also make sure that your child arrives safely in the destination airport.
The UM service and the corresponding flight can be booked through the call center or at a Eurowings airport counter, but unfortunately not online or by mobile phone. If your booking has an etix® ticket number, you can only book the UM service at the airport.
Charges
A fee will be charged per leg of travel and per child. This must be paid with the booking payment.
Note:
All regulations apply to Eurowings flights with an EW flight number, regardless of the operating airline. For our partner airlines' flights, which do not have an EW flight number, the conditions of the specific airline apply and can be viewed on the airlines' own websites. How will I be billed at Eurowings?
You will receive your Eurowings statement by email. This is your electronic ticket. Both Article 34 of the German VAT Implementation Order (UStDV) and a circular from the German Ministry of Finance (BMF) on January 29, 2004, Ref. IV B 7 – S 7280 – 19/04 recognize transport tickets as invoices (without an electronic signature) entitling the purchaser to a deduction for input tax.
Lost your booking confirmation?
No problem. Just phone our call center and we will be happy to send you a new booking confirmation.
Note:
If you have an etix® ticket number or if you have booked a flight with one of our partner airlines at eurowings.com or a Eurowings flight at one of our partner airline websites or through a travel agency, please contact the relevant airline or your travel agency to request a statement.
