Board and fly with ease: our boarding process

To ensure boarding goes as smoothly as possible and to avoid long waits, we board passengers one group at a time. To board, every passenger needs their own boarding pass, either on their mobile phone, on the Eurowings app, or printed out on paper. The important thing is that the QR code is clearly visible.

Your boarding group can be found on your boarding pass.

 Please keep the gate area clear until your group is called, so that everyone has easy access to the aircraft.

Eurowings boarding groups

Group PRE

Passengers who need assistance when boarding as well as families with children under two and unaccompanied minors board first.

Group 1

All our BIZclass passengers as well as HON Circle members or Senators board next. Also passengers who have purchased “Priority Boarding”.

Group 2

This group includes all SMART customers as well as BASIC fare passengers who have booked an additional large item of hand baggage.

Group 3

All remaining passengers, who have purchased a BASIC fare are in Group 3.

What is the new Eurowings Priority Boarding?

  • Earlier boarding: Board the plane ahead of other passengers.

  • More comfort: Take your seat at your leisure before general boarding begins.

  • Easy to add: Simply select “Priority Boarding” when booking your flight.

Please note that the product is limited to a certain number of passengers and is not available on every flight. BASIC fare passengers can only book Priority Boarding if they have booked a large item of hand baggage.
