    Optimise-it GmbH

    This website uses technologies from optimise-it GmbH, Karnapp 25, 21079 Hamburg (www.optimise-it.de) on technical grounds and for optimisation purposes. The cookies for optimisation purposes are used to collect and store data in pseudonymised form. To do this, a so-called fingerprint is used in addition to the cookies. The fingerprint technology saves environmental variables of the internet browser in a database but does not store any explicitly user-related information such as IP addresses.

    Usabilla

    We use the feedback services ‘Usabilla for Websites’ and ‘Usabilla for Apps’ provided by Usabilla B.V. (Rokin 16, 1012 KR, Amsterdam, The Netherlands) to analyse user feedback and optimise the website. Whenever a user clicks the feedback button or takes part in an online survey, a cookie is placed on their computer.     Adobe Analytics

    We create pseudonymous user profiles with the help of Adobe Analytics, an analysis application provided by Adobe Systems Software Ireland Limited (‘Adobe’) which enables us to lay out our website according to the user's needs. Adobe Analytics also uses cookies that facilitate analysis of your website use. The information generated by the cookie, which includes browsing behaviour, click behaviour, browser settings, IP address and selected products, is pseudonymised and transmitted to an Adobe server stationed in Europe, where it is stored. Our server settings ensure that your IP address and other data are anonymised before storage and further processing. In doing so, the last octet of the IP address is replaced with zeros. Adobe uses this information to evaluate your use of the website on our behalf, to compile reports about website activity and to provide us with additional services related to website activity and internet usage. Cookie deletion period: 5 years

    Adobe Target

    We also use the application Adobe Target to carry out so-called ‘A/B tests’ and to display target group-based content on our website.

    When carrying out A/B tests, we display different versions of our website to user groups (for example, the original version and a version with modified designs or content). By using Adobe Target, we can determine which of the two versions leads to improved performance.

    To display the target group-based content, we assign users of our website to one or more target groups and then display content customised to the respective target group on our website. Adobe Target also uses cookies and saves certain information based on the cookie in a pseudonymised usage profile, which however does not enable you to be identified directly. In the pseudonymised usage profile, information on the browser and end device and information on the use of our website and the user’s approximate geographical location is transmitted to an Adobe server in Europe and stored there. As with Adobe Analytics, Adobe Target also records the IP address and anonymises it by changing the last octet before storage and further processing. The approximate location is also determined exclusively on the basis of the anonymised IP address.

    For Adobe Target, Adobe uses both ‘session cookies’, which are cached only for the duration of your use of our website, and ‘persistent cookies’, which are used to store information about visitors who repeatedly access our website.     Hotjar

    We use Hotjar (Hotjar Ltd, Level 2, St Julians Business Centre, 3, Elia Zammit Street, St Julians STJ 1000, Malta) to better understand our users’ needs and to optimise the service and experience on our website. Hotjar is a technology service that helps us better understand our users’ experience (e.g. how much time they spend on which pages, which links they choose to click, what users do and don’t like etc.) and this enables us to build and maintain our service with user feedback. Hotjar uses cookies and other technologies to collect data on our users’ behaviour and their devices. This includes your device's IP address (processed during your session and stored in a de-identified form), device screen size, device type (unique device identifiers), browser information, geographic location (country only), and the preferred language used to display our website. Hotjar stores in this information in a pseudonymised user profile on our behalf.

    Flashtalking

    We use Flashtalking technology (Flashtalking GmbH, Schanzenstraße 35, 51063 Cologne) to optimise our website and carry out conversion tracking.

    A pseudonymised online identifier is collected and saved in a cookie. The data collected is used for optimisation purposes and conversion tracking. During ad campaigns, cookies help us recognise that the same device has been seen before and where. This helps indicate if an ad is effective for the advertiser, and enables the advertiser to tailor messages, offers, recommendations, and promoted content to your preferences over time.

    The legal basis for the processing of your data for conversion tracking purposes is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR.     Browser and device information: At the time of the ad being served, we collect information about your browser and device, including your browser type, device type, IP address, user agent string, operating system, mobile carrier (if applicable), connection type and identifiers assigned to your browser or device, such as the advertising identifiers assigned by platform providers.

    Usage data: We collect information about the websites and mobile apps you visit, including the date and time your browser or device accesses such websites or apps and the specific pages accessed.

    Click and search data: We collect information about the advertisements you click on and the search terms you employ within the services.

    Location information: If permitted by your browser or device, we may collect information about the geo-location of your device for the purposes of serving ads that may be more relevant to you or helping to understand how you responded to ads served to you. We also infer information about your general (non-specific) location based on your IP address.

    Google Firebase

    We use the services Google Analytics for Firebase, Crash Reporting and Push provided by Google Ireland Limited (Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland).

    Google Analytics for Firebase provides information on how our app is used, thus enabling us to orient its design on user needs. The data obtained cannot be used to determine the personal identity of website users. Firebase Analytics generates an anonymised ID. You can restrict this use by adjusting the settings in your mobile device.

    For iOS: Settings > Privacy > Advertising > No Ad Tracking

    Google Analytics for Firebase operates on a global infrastructure maintained by Google. The information collected by Google Analytics for Firebase is therefore also stored outside the EU. Google Analytics for Firebase is certified under the Privacy Shield framework and thus guarantees to comply with European data protection legislation (https://www.privacyshield.gov/participant?id=a2zt0000000TNT1AAO&status=Active).

    The Eurowings app uses the tool Firebase Crash Reporting to analyse faults and solve problems with the app. Firebase Crash Reporting is a product of Google Ireland Limited (Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland). Firebase Crash Reporting receives real-time crash and error reports with details of the app status at the time of the crash, the relevant codes, information about the device and the most recent log file reports. This helps us simplify app servicing procedures and make the app more stable. Firebase Crash Reporting operates on a global infrastructure maintained by Google. The information collected is therefore also stored outside the EU. The error and crash reports generated are erased after 180 days.

    If you wish to receive push notifications in the Eurowings app even when you are not using it, you must permit us to send them. We will ask you for your permission when you install the app (Android) or when you first use it (iOS). You can still change all the message and access settings in your device at a later date.

    When sending push notifications, we use the services Firebase Cloud Messaging provided by the company Google Ireland Limited (Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland) for Android and Apple Push Notifications provided by Apple Inc. (Infinite Loop, Cupertino, United States) for iOS. To do so, Firebase and Apple generate a computed key which is made up of the app identifier and your device identifier. This key is stored on our push platform together with your chosen settings so that the content can be displayed to you in accordance with your wishes. The Firebase and Apple servers can draw no conclusions regarding user queries or determine any other data connected with an individual person. Firebase and Apple serve solely as transmitters.

    2.  Marketing cookies

    We use cookies for marketing purposes, for example to display advertising which matches the website visitor's interests. After you visit our website, this application makes it possible to show you advertising related to the services/products you viewed on our website when you visit other websites. A cookie is placed on your browser for recognition purposes. This means that your interest in certain products can be logged when you visit our website and then used to display targeted advertising when you visit other websites.     Facebook

    With Facebook Pixel, Facebook can show you advertising from Eurowings on facebook.com that is customised for you. In this respect, we would like to inform you that the tracking tool Facebook Pixel may make it possible to identify users through other websites. If you have given Facebook your consent, Facebook Pixel will upon activation send general information about the browsing session along with the Facebook cookie, Pixel ID and the URL of the site visited. Absolutely no personal information is passed on to Facebook about the person who visited the website. In specific terms, all information from the HTTP header is shared. This comprises the anonymised IP address, information about the web browser, language and time zone, and the name of the mobile network or internet service provider. The anonymised IP address is not transmitted to the advertiser during this process. Facebook does not use the IP address from the HTTP header when carrying out marketing activities (i.e. for targeting or localisation purposes).     YouTube

    Embedded YouTube videos

    We have embedded Eurowings videos on our website which are also available on our YouTube channel (service provided by YouTube LLC, 901 Cherry Avenue, San Bruno, CA 94066, USA – “YouTube”).

    The embedded videos are played in a section of the website, but not until you actively click the play button. Playing an embedded YouTube video establishes a connection to YouTube’s servers so that the video can be displayed in your browser. We have embedded these videos on our website in YouTube’s so called “privacy-enhanced mode”, which means YouTube will not store cookies on your device. However, your IP address will be transmitted when playing the YouTube video, and YouTube will be informed that you have visited our website. YouTube has indicated that this information cannot be traced back to you if you are not logged in to YouTube or another Google service when the video is played. When you click on and play an embedded video in privacy-enhanced mode, the cookies stored by YouTube on your device will not contain personal data unless you are currently logged in to a Google service. You can adjust your browser settings and add-ons to block these cookies.

    Eurowings collaborates with a number of advertising partners to ensure that its internet offers and websites are as interesting to you as possible. To do this, cookies are placed by Adform A/S (Wildersgade 10B, 1, 1408 Copenhagen K, Denmark) when visiting the Eurowings website. These are temporary cookies that are automatically deleted after 60 days of inactivity. These cookies contain anonymous data. This may for example include which products you have viewed, whether something is purchased, which products were searched for etc. At no time is this anonymous data merged with your personal data. It is solely intended to allow our advertising partners to offer you advertising that might actually interest you.     The Trade Desk

    This website uses technology provided by The Trade Desk (The Trade Desk Ltd, 1 Bartholomew Close, London EC1A 7BL, United Kingdom, https://www.thetradedesk.com/) to collect and store data for marketing and optimisation purposes. This data can for example be used to generate pseudonymised user profiles. Browser cookies can be used for this purpose. The Trade Desk does not use data collected using its technology to determine the personal identity of visitors to this website.
