In general, you are responsible for your carry-on baggage yourself. Airlines’ liability for checked baggage is regulated by law and governed by the Montreal Convention.
Eurowings is not liable for normal wear and tear, such as scratches, dents or stains, or for damage to baggage that is overpacked, overweight or not properly packed. This liability waiver also applies to certain items that may be damaged while carried in checked baggage. A list of these items can be found in our General Conditions of Carriage (GCCs), Article 15.3 (Damage to baggage).
Please report lost baggage immediately after arrival online via our baggage self-service or at the Eurowings baggage tracing desk at the airport. It is possible to submit a written report afterwards within the legally required timeframe (the postmark or the automatic date stamp of the email receipt determines whether the deadline has been met). However, in this case, the burden of proof is reversed and you must demonstrate that the irregularity occurred during air carriage.
Please report any baggage damage directly after arrival at the Eurowings baggage tracing desk at the airport.
