Tell me more about CO₂ compensated flying!

 

For all flights booked via Flyla, the platform contributes toward reducing the climate impact of future flights, equivalent to the estimated CO₂ emissions. To achieve this, Flyla partners with First Climate, which has been developing climate protection solutions for over 20 years. Funding goes to projects that meet the highest ecological and socio-economic standards, helping to either prevent CO₂ emissions over the long term or capture them from the atmosphere.

Your flight’s estimated CO₂ emissions are calculated using a model based on flight route and aircraft type. This value is determined by Flyla. Flyla then makes a corresponding financial contribution to a First Climate protection project in India. This contribution is fully covered by Flyla and is never added as an extra charge to your airfare. 

Additionally, for every booking made, the company supports reforestation initiatives in partnership with Eden Reforestation Projects. These projects help to sequester CO₂ over the long term while boosting and supporting local communities. Due to the complex ecological and social dynamics inherent in climate protection projects, the exact amount of CO₂ savings can naturally vary. In addition to CO₂ emissions, flying has other impacts on the climate.

Which discounted Eurowings flights can students book?


A Eurowings flight booked via Flyla is always in our BASIC fare. This includes the flight and one piece of hand baggage free of charge. Of course, you can book an additional piece of baggage or other services, such as a preferred seat, via our homepage. All you need is your booking number.

What are the cancellation and rebooking terms for Eurowings flights with discount for students?


Even if you have found and purchased your flight on Flyla, the same rebooking and cancellation conditions apply to you as when you purchase on eurowings.com or our app.

We want our customers to book their trips carefree and flexible and not have to miss your next city trip or vacation. That's why our flight tickets can be rebooked an unlimited number of times and free of charge up to 40 minutes before departure. If the new flight is more expensive, only the price difference will be charged. This way you can postpone a trip even at short notice or choose another vacation destination.

How does Flyla ensure that only students can buy the discounted tickets?


To use Flyla, you must register for a customer account. The customer data you provide is then matched via real-time authentication with a central database in which all enrolled students are listed. Once you have been verified as a student person, you can book all marked "student deals" on the platform.

For this reason, multiple tickets cannot be purchased by one person through Flyla, as it is not possible to verify that the traveler is also a student.

How can Flyla even offer such affordable tickets when the real airfare is more expensive?


Eurowings is a European value carrier. Many of our tickets on domestic German and European routes are therefore generally very affordable. However, the closer the departure date, the more the price of a flight ticket increases, as there are usually only a few seats left on the aircraft. For Eurowings, this system provides planning security for the flight schedule, as the capacity utilization of a flight is determined quite early on. The remaining more expensive tickets are bought by customers who have to or want to travel at short notice. These are mostly business travelers - but also students.

Since these often higher last minute prices are out of the budget for students, we reserve a certain contingent of our tickets for Flyla very early.

The price thus remains constantly low for this ticket contingent. This way we ensure that the ticket costs up to 50% less for you, no matter when you book, and that only students can take advantage of these offers.

Can I book through Flyla even if I am not a student?


On Flyla.com, all flights offered by the respective partner airlines are found. However, not all routes have a designated discount for students, which is marked as a "student deal". The flight tickets without a discount for students can then of course also be booked by non-students.
