A gift voucher can only be purchased online at eurowings.com. The gift voucher with the voucher code is sent by email in PDF format to the address provided by the purchaser.
Gift vouchers can only be issued in euros.
Provided nothing else is stated on the gift voucher, the gift voucher shall be valid after purchase until the end of the year of its issue and for an additional three years thereafter (e.g. purchase date 01 April 2025, valid until 31 December 2028). Vouchers purchased before 01 January 2025 remain valid until the end of the year of its issue and for an additional five years thereafter. Please see the PDF voucher for the expiration date. It is not possible to extend a voucher's expiration date or exchange it for cash.
The balance associated with the voucher is activated as soon as the amount chosen for a gift voucher has been credited to Eurowings, but no sooner than 24 hours after purchase.
5. The voucher may only be redeemed online for Eurowings flights. It is valid exclusively for flights operated by Eurowings or Eurowings wet lease partners and only for additional services connected with a flight operated by Eurowings (such as baggage and special baggage surcharges and seat reservation). These additional services can be paid for by gift voucher during the flight booking or when added at a later time. However, the booking of partner offers (e.g. hotel, rental car, or insurances), with the exception of Rail&Fly, and the use of gift vouchers for purchasing additional gift vouchers are not permitted. Booking changes are possible when covered by the Eurowings General Carriage Conditions (GCC). If flights paid for by a gift voucher are cancelled in line with the statutory or tariff-related conditions and submitted for reimbursement, the refund amount shall be retransferred to the gift voucher.
6. A gift voucher issued in euros can also be used for flights that are paid for in other currencies.
7. If the invoice amount exceeds the value of the voucher, you can settle the balance using another permissible payment method or another voucher.
8. Should the value of the voucher exceed the invoice amount, the balance shall remain on the gift voucher with the same voucher code until it expires and can be redeemed when booking another flight. Please note that you will not receive a new gift voucher for the remaining amount. Cash payment of the remaining balance is not possible.
9. It is not possible to use a gift voucher to pay for bookings made before the gift voucher was purchased.
10. You retain the right to revoke this contract within fourteen days without stating the reasons for doing so. The period shall begin once the recipient has received the gift voucher. To exercise your right of revocation, you must write to us at

with an unambiguous declaration (e.g. a letter sent by post or an email) of your decision to revoke this contract. You can use the attached sample revocation form for this purpose, but this is not mandatory. In order to comply with the revocation period, it is sufficient for you to send a notification that you wish to exercise your right of revocation before the end of the revocation period. Consequences of revocation
If you revoke this contract, we must pay back to you all the payments we received from you, including the delivery costs (with the exception of additional costs resulting from your choice of a different type of delivery to the cost-efficient, standard delivery that we offered), immediately and no later than fourteen days from the day we received the notification about your revocation of this contract. For this repayment, we shall use the same payment method that you used for the original transaction, unless something else was expressly agreed with you; in no circumstances shall you be charged any fees for this repayment.
If you ask for us to start the services during the revocation period, you must pay us an appropriate amount that corresponds to the portion of the services with regard to the overall services set forth in the contract that was provided to you before you notified us about the revocation of the contract.

11. The voucher code is linked to an internal account which we maintain and which you can access with the voucher code. Whether printed, in PDF format or in the form of an email, gift vouchers have a solely declaratory character and do not represent a separate balance. To prevent fraudulent use, we recommend keeping the gift voucher in a place not accessible to third parties, as anyone may use the voucher code to charge a booking to your balance. This also applies in the event that a voucher is given to another party, as the previous owner may continue to use the voucher code. Eurowings accepts no liability for any damages you may suffer in the event that a third party makes bookings by unlawfully entering the correct voucher code.
12. Eurowings accepts no liability for typographical errors in the email address of the voucher recipient or for the loss of gift vouchers or voucher codes, and shall not issue replacements.
The liability of Eurowings to compensate users is excluded, providing the claim is based on minor negligence. This does not apply if a duty has been breached which, according to the meaning and purpose of the contract, must be fulfilled, or the fulfilment of which is necessary for the proper execution of the contract and on the compliance with which users may generally rely. If Eurowings is liable in principle, the claim for compensation shall be limited to the typical contractual and foreseeable damages (value of the established service).
The limitations of liability do not apply in the event of injury to life, limb or health, in the case of gross negligence or wilful intent by employees, vicarious agents or legal representatives of Eurowings, or in the event of statutory liability regardless of fault, or in the event of guarantees assumed.
13. Gift vouchers may only be used for private purposes. It is prohibited to sell the vouchers to others without the prior approval of Eurowings. In particular, it is prohibited to offer gift vouchers for sale via internet auction companies or other internet platforms by yourself or by using third parties.
14. In the case of fraud, attempted deception or suspicion of other illegal activities in connection with the purchase or redemption of a voucher, Eurowings shall be entitled to block the respective voucher code and/or demand an alternative form of payment. In the event that a voucher code is blocked for the reasons stated above, Eurowings will gladly provide the purchaser of the gift voucher with a replacement code after contact is made by the purchaser.
15. German law shall apply (excluding the UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods and the Conflict of Laws). Should one or several of the clauses of these terms of use be or become invalid, this shall not affect the validity of the remaining clauses. Use of the voucher is also subject to the General Conditions of Carriage (GCC) and the data protection provisions of Eurowings.
